How To Get Your Teenager off their phone and the computer and into an environment that will get them fit and build their confidence?

Dear Parent of a Teenager,

Parents bring their teenage children into our program for many reasons.

The five most popular reasons why parents enrol their teenage son or daughter into our school are:

  1. Their child is struggling to make new friends at school and other activities

  2. Their child is being bullied and hassled by other children at school

  3. Their child doesn’t fit into other “team type” sports and activities

  4. Their child lacks the motivation to try new things

  5. Their child has had negative experiences with other physical activities

There can be many reasons why your son or daughter is experiencing a tough time at school and in the community. Many times parents have tried a myriad of strategies and activities to help their child have a happy and fun childhood free from stress, worry and inactivity.

So How Can We Help!

In short we specialise in building kids confidence through martial arts training.

We have found by talking to thousands of parents about their children that the root cause of many problems that their children experience is a lack of confidence.

Confidence gives kids the courage to make new friends, stand up to bullies, try other sports and to be more outgoing. Is our program a “FIX ALL”? Absolutely not. Can we help? YES. We have taught thousands of children martial arts over the past 21 years and have a developed a program that is unlike most martial arts programs for kids.

So why do teenagers stick with our program?

  1. Our program is teenage friendly:

We have broken all traditional ties in how we teach and interact with young teenagers in our classes. Teenagers are not little kids and they are not adults and they can be difficult to motivate. So how do we work with them? Simply put we structure our classes so that they are learning what they want to learn and we teach in a way that they prefer to be taught.

  2. Our program is safe:

Safety come before everything else. The martial arts can be a very dangerous activity if taught incorrectly. We make every effort to ensure your child’s safety as soon as they step inside our building. All partner activities are heavily controlled and monitored to ensure student safety.

  3. Our Classes Are Fun:

Teenagers will stick at an activity if its fun. Our classes incorporate group, partner and solo activities. Every class is challenging, fast paced and full of great martial arts drills. Teens can set their own pace in any activity and we encourage social interaction before and after class.

  4. Our Teachers Are Gentle:

We are not a hard nosed group of instructors. We are here to help your child’s development not to be their parent or disciplinarian. If your child misbehaves in class they will be gently told to sit out for a few minutes during class time. No fuss, no yelling and no unrealistic expectations on behaviour.

  5. Our Teen’s Program Is Designed For Teen’s

For years we made the mistake of teaching the teens and adults together exclusively. Since we made the switch to teens only classes our teen attendance has tripled inside of 12-months. Our experience has taught us that teens want to learn similar skills to the adults in our school but with people their own age.

So WHAT DO Teens LOVE About Our School?

To be honest some new teens who come into our school do not like what we do. But for those who stick with our program this is what they have told us:

  1. What We Teach Works

Our curriculum ticks all the practical boxes. When they become a member of our school they can choose to learn Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Reality Based Self Defence and FMA Weaponry. Each of these disciples has proved time and time again to be the most effective disciplines at their chosen range.

  2. They Are In The Drivers Seat

Once they are a member of our school they have the freedom and flexibility to train in any discipline they want for no additional charge. Many of our teen members do multiple disciplines but if they want to specialise that’s cool too. They are free to chop and change as they see fit.

  3. They Will Be SAFE

You can rest easy in the fact that we take every precaution necessary to ensure your teens safety. They are free to set their own pace and have the freedom to pass on any activity that’s outside their comfort zone.

  4. We Are Different

We have developed a unique teaching style and culture within our school. Apart from our attire we have no “traditional martial arts” rituals, customs, language or etiquette. This means that your teenage child can relax and focus on learning and training rather than worrying about what they should say when and how to stand whilst waiting instruction. Expect them to be treated like a teenager by our friendly team of instructors.
